School supplies for 120 Samar scholars

Every June, the teachers of the Samar Scholars Circle quietly cover school supplies for students whose families cannot - out of their own salaries. This year, for the first time, they asked for help instead.

Twenty dollars equips one child: a bag, notebooks for the whole year, pencils, and a uniform sewn by a local tailor. The circle's list of 120 students was drawn up with the barangay and checked by Sagip's reviewer against enrollment records.

The goal has been reached - salamat! - and the campaign stays open until closing day. Anything raised beyond the goal buys shoes, the item every parent asks about and no budget ever reaches.
