When the Marikina River hits the second alarm, the families along the riverbank have minutes, not hours. The barangay response team's answer is simple: a grab-and-go waterproof bag for every riverside household, packed before the monsoon peaks.

Each kit costs about $25 - three days of ready-to-eat food, drinking water, a first-aid pack with maintenance meds, a flashlight, and copies of the family's documents in a dry pouch. The team pre-positions kits at the evacuation chapel so nobody has to swim back for anything.

The household list comes from the barangay's own flood census, reviewed by Sagip before launch. Purchases are bulk orders with supplier invoices, re-verified at payout.
